If you have mainstream taste in films, please watch Cinderella
Man. But if your taste is offbeat and a little arty, then The
Brothers Grimm is definitely the movie of the week for you.

This strange little fairytale is directed by Terry Gilliam, the
fabulous fantasist who concocted such divine films as Brazil,
Twelve Monkeys and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
With their eye-popping designs, bizarre characters and fantastical
storylines, it is no wonder that the mere mention of Terry's name
makes serious movie buffs drool.

Terry's latest film stars Matt Damon and Heath Ledger as Will and
Jacob Grimm, the famous German brothers who wrote grim fairytales
like Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel & Gretel.
Playing fast and loose with historical facts, the film depicts the
brothers as a pair of conmen who make money out of "banishing?evil
witches from villages. But the boys find themselves in real trouble
when they come face-to-face with the real and powerful Mirror Witch
(gorgeous Monica Belluci).

Throughout the film, you'll be treated to a wondrous array of whimsical
characters, stories and jokes. And while you may come out of the
cinema a little confused and overwhelmed, it would still be one
of the weirdest, most unique cinematic experiences you've had for
awhile.

(Considering how gay-friendly Heath is to take on the role of a
homo cowboy in Lee Ang's gay film Brokeback Mountain, it
may also be nice to support his career by watching the film.)
