Director Tony Scott (brother of Ridley) may have had huge hits
with Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop 2. But we are
really not impressed with his latest effort.
It tells the sensationalized and not-completely-true story of Domino
Harvey (played by the lovely Keira Knightley), daughter of the late
Hollywood actor Laurence Harvey, who abandons her modeling career
to become a professional bounty hunter.
Is she a dyke, as most if you girls are no doubt wondering. Well,
it's hard to tell what the woman is really like when the camera
is so ridiculously busy at all time, constantly moving about in
the hope of capturing her in all kinds of weird angles. But yes,
the fact is she was a lesbian.
Now here comes the horrid part — the moviemakers decided
not portray her as a lesbian in the movie, preferring to keep her
sexuality somewhat ambiguous. In February this year, the real Domino
Harvey slammed the filmmakers?for hiding her sexuality in the
film. Then in June 2005, she was found dead from drug overdose.
As much as we respect the dead, we don't really recommend this
movie to anyone, including lesbians. The film is horridly shot,
and sufferers of migraine had better stay away. Everyone else who
insist on seeing should pop two Panadol pills before entering the
cinema.
