We know that among you fags and dykes, there are some serious hard-rocking head-banging mofos. Not only that, we know you dig the crude fratboy humor that male comedians Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Will Ferrell, et al. do so well.
Well then, you'd love the new movie called Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny. It stars Jack Black and Kyle Gass as two guys who grew up in an armpit of town called Kickapoo, dreaming of becoming rock stars.
One day, they meet a crazy rock guru (Ben Stiller) who tells them all the great rock bands in the history have relied on a magical guitar pick that's made of the Devil's tooth. The pick is now kept in the Rock History Museum, which conveniently means that our boys will have to make their way to Hollywood, break into the museum and steal it.
The plot, to be sure, is more anorexic than Nicole Richie. But each time Jack Black and Kyle Gass start rocking and rolling, they are a hoot. Jack can really sing (as you might have noticed in that terrific comedy The School of Rock) and Kyle wields a mean guitar. Each time the duo take to the stage, the film is on fire.
If you're into rock, you'll love this gig.
