Organised by the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival Society, the annual gay film event - the 23rd Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (HKLGFF) 2012 - will take place from 16th November to 4th December at Palace IFC in Central, The ONE in Tsim Sha Tsui, Broadway Cinemathèque in Yau Ma Tei and AMC in Festival Walk. As the oldest and largest gay and lesbian film festival in Asia, the HKLGFF continues to present feature films, shorts and documentaries on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues from around the world, many of which are award-winning pieces from international film festivals, with over 50 screenings to date, offering local audiences a glimpse into the lives of the international gay community.
This year's Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival 2012 continues to show various facets of LGBT life in Asia and other regions including gay marriage, gay families, mothers of gay children, coming out, friendship and even school bullying. The opening film of the Festival is "Two Weddings and a Funeral", a finalist in the Pusan International Film Festival 2012, and the first Korean gay romantic comedy.
