Justice for Sisters

As more and more misinformation and hatred are propagated regarding the trans* community, we feel that it is important to correct these information in hopes to foster understanding and promote tolerance and acceptance in this society towards trans people. this educational campaign is specifically designed to raise awareness regarding the trans community and subsequently bridge the gap between the trans* community and the society.

:: PROGRAMME ::

1.00 - 1.30 pm - refreshments and viewing of artworks

1.30 - 2.30 pm - launch of the campaign, screening of video and discussion with Nisha, Dorian and Ineza

2.30 - 3.00 pm - art auction

3.00 - 5.00 pm
- Trial of a trans
Can a transwoman be recognised by the Malaysian courts as who she is? Is the court the only place to fight for the rights of transgender Malaysians? What can we do for our fellow Malaysians? Come listen to arguments for and against the rights of transgender Malaysians and participate in the discussion. Featuring Derek Ong, Siti Kassim and more.

5.30 pm onward
- Rainbow Roller Disco bring your things on rainbow gears and wheels (skateboard, wheelies, bicycle, roller skates) and skateto the music by DJ Jerome Kugan and performances by Sajad, Wanna,Nur Shafika, TheTingTongTrans, Wrong Impression and others. it will be a party to remember!

Justice for Sisters is a grassroots campaign organized by concerned members of the public to raise public awareness about issues surrounding violence and persecution against the Mak Nyah community in Malaysia. The campaign also aims to raise funds to finance court cases that have been brought up against transgenders who have been charged in Syariah court.
