The Vancouver Pride Society is excited to announce that Pride 2013 will be more accessible than ever! Two of our signature events, GayDay @ Playland and the Davie Street Party, will feature free, public festival sites in addition to ticketed sites.

The Pride Festival Grounds at GayDay @ Playland has moved from its historical location next to the Flume Water Ride, to the Lagoon at the PNE. This new site will feature a fully covered beer garden, barbeque, and lagoon-side festival stage featuring youth performances and a drag show at 5:00pm. The festival is free and open to the public and an all-day rides pass is available online on our events page for $30.00.

The Davie Street Party will be opened up this year, featuring a fenceless Community Block Party from Bute to Jervis. Join us at 4pm for afternoon of outdoor sports, games, and local performances on our Community Stage. Two enclosed beer gardens will open up at 7pm with a DJ Stage in the Bute – Thurlow block, and a Live Stage in the Thurlow – Burrard block with Jinkx Monsoon, winner of the 2013 RuPaul’s Drag Race, performing.

The free festivals at two of our signature events are the first step in creating a more accessible Pride and we hope that more people can join us this year in celebrating Pride.

2013 VANCOUVER PRIDE PARADE - Aug 4, 2013

2013 marks the 35th Anniversary of Pride in Vancouver. This year is an important turning point for the Vancouver Pride Society (VPS), with the City of Vancouver granting civic status to the Pride Parade, now considered one of the city's flagship events!

Attracting crowds of more than 650,000, the Pride Parade is renowned on the international stage among the largest and most successful events in the world in support of LGBTQ communities, with spectator and participants outnumbering the host City’s residents.
