车臣总统被指控“清洗”车臣共和国内的同性恋社区，他之前表示国内不存在同性恋。

根据俄罗斯的《新报Novaya Gazeta》声称，俄罗斯联邦车臣共和国100多名男子在近几周内由于当局被秘密监禁，被拘留在秘密监狱并遭到严刑拷打和各种折磨。据证实至少有四人被杀。
