I don't think there is anything wrong with having one or more types of guys you find attractive, of course friendship is important for a relationship but there must be an attraction too. for me it is more about the way people choose to interact with each other on these apps. I am myself a larger guy and that's not everyone's type but when someone messages me unless they are really creepy I'll always reply and thank them for messaging, but if I am not interested I'll let them know. Teasing someone or saying unpleasant comments is simply wrong.

All they have to do is look in the mirror to be turned off.

Some many years ago I came to Australia from Canada and was suddenly 'surrounded' by Asia !!! Back then the Australians saw Asians as 'gold diggers' who simply wanted to improve their lot by escaping from their home country. Now the Aussies who have taken the time to appreciate some of the better qualities of Asian Gay Males see them in a different light altogether.
The few that may still be negative towards Asians simply think of them as 'Oriental Opportunists' ... which given their commitment, hard work and loyalty still seems harsh.

Interesting nothing new there. Sexuality and sexual preference is a very complex phenomenon.Well I was not really looking for an intellectual cognitive engagement. However, I felt a compelling need to respond. I have used grinder at times and when I do I am not looking for a close friend but more safe sex fun. I too appreciate different cultures and people from different backgrounds in almost every setting. Conversely when it comes to the bedroom I have specific interests. When it comes to sexuality I have a very clear preference as difficult as some may find this to comprehend. Regardless how educated or intelligent a women maybe or a black person, I have no sexual desire for either. Thus making a complete and full relationship impossible for me. I am not a lone in this position as repugnant as some may find it. I enjoy the presence of many diverse and interesting people but for a full harmonious relationship I almost exclusively prefer Asian men especially in the bedroom. I have been to one Asian express. It was fun. :)
