This film was a huge hit in its native Sweden, and even got a nomination
for Best Foreign Picture in this year's Academy Awards.
It tells the story of successful but ill musician who decides to
return to his small hometown in order to take a break from the hectic
world of professional music. There, he is invited to help the local
church choir become better.
As you might expect, the choir does become very good — so
good, in fact, that they are invited to perform at regional contest
where they completely upset the competition. As you may expect in
this kind of film, there are humorous moments and poignant ones,
and some inspired singing. If you were a fan of The Choir Boys,
then you might want to check this out. It's not nearly as fun and
heartwarming as the former, but it does hit its notes now and then.
Brought to you by the gay-friendly distribution house, Festive
Films.
