In the video, members of Manifested Glory Ministries, a Bridgeport, Connecticut-based church are seen standing over a 16-year-old boy, performing an exorcism and demanding that the “homosexual spirit” leaves the teenager as he screams and writhes on the ground.
"You sex demon... you snake!"
Although the video is believed to have been taken six or seven months ago, major news outlets including CNN only began to report on it on Thursday.
The church’s pastor, Patricia McKinney, told CNN that the boy approached her and asked for help with his struggle against his sexuality. According to her, the ritual was a “casting out of unclean spirits” rather than an exorcism, and similar events have happened in the church before.
Speaking with the Associated Press, she said: "We believe a man should be with a woman and a woman should be with a man. We have nothing against homosexuals. I just don't agree with their lifestyle."
"I think it's horrifying," Robin McHaelen, executive director of True Colors, told the Associated Press, referring to the video posted by Manifested Glory's now-defunct YouTube page. "What saddens me is the people that are doing this think they are doing something in the kid's best interests, when in fact they're murdering his spirit."
The controversial video on Youtube has since been removed by the church.

After watching the video, I've come up with the conclusion that perhaps those who aren't happy with the fact that they are gay should go for this roll-on-the-floor-while-screaming-therapy.
You know, I know some kids who do the same routine whenever they go to Toys 'R' Us.
Perhaps they can use the same ritual whenever they don't get that promotion they wanted, their dad didn't buy them a car for their graduation, they lost a gf/bf/wife/fiancee', etc.
Cynicism and sarcasm aside, if the 16-year-old did this willingly, then I wish him well and hope the "homosexual demons" have gone away. Hopefully the white cloths, rolling on the floor and screaming while having someone yell at you in a church heals your soul and helps you with your conflict.
But if he was forced to do it by anyone, then shame on them.
If this is what some God fearing folk believe then I am even happier that I chose atheism as the sensible alternative to dangerous nonsense like this.

second, there is a spiritual world, something that almost all Asians would agree on. who is in charge, and what manner of spirits is involved, and whether u believe in what's going on, is up to you. though i wouldn't recommend it, u only have to go to some chinese temples here to see some writhing that is quite bizarre and unnerving, to me. but some here may subscribe to that, and in this case, some westerners may also find an occasion for exotic tourism instead. of course, if there is any coercion in ANY religion, then yes, there is wrong.
third, we are such complex psychological and individual creatures that, if truth be told, we often don't even fully understand ourselves, or even our emotions. if u r perfectly happy being "gay" or "bi" or "straight", then fine. if not, you have the right to make adjustments, if you so choose to. you have the right to not be streamlined or stereotyped or polarised into any singular description. isn't that fair?
it seems to me that from one's youth, one is always being forced to join one tribe or another, to fall under one description or another. that is politics, not religion. yes, in the US, the religious right has caused much hurt to the LGBT community. even jimmy carter doesn't agree with their "politics". we are all human beings first... except maybe Julia Roberts. she's an orang hutan babe. i hope u're smiling...

Some of these churches (well, 99% of them) are congreations of people with severe mental disorders.
To be able to engage or even watch such kind of ritual, you really have to be disconnected from reality.

The sad thing is that this kid came to the church willingly. Here's a dirty little secret: African American culture is more homophobic than Asian culture. In this kid's mind, he was probably desperately trying to find a way to fit in. Let's not focus on being gay or the ... ridiculous religions. How can we reach out to kids who are growing up in cultures (African American, Amish, Hasidic Jewish, whatever) and, quite frankly, 'worlds' where they just don't know that there might be a 'third way'. He might not have sought out exorcism if he had a counselor to tell him, "you're FINE!"

This kid, maybe gay, maybe not, maybe attention-seeking, ... who knows, he chose to approach his church and have this 'service' done. His problem, not ours; why does anybody care? His church didn't invade his home or his school. It was his choice.

This kid is sick and he went to a sick church. It happens in Asia every day.
A person's sexuality is born from(most probably) family condition during growth. The people who should be "exorcised" should be the parents, not the inner demons inside kids. The kids turned to such thanks to the parenting he received, not by some nonsense demon which claimed to have possessed the kids. Confused, they tend to seek help from the one they think they can depend on. The church sure have strange ways to make one feel "Better", though i really don't think i'd work anyway.
Besides, if being kicked and stepped on, yelled and shamed at, in tongue language that doesn't make any sense at all, while te patient writhes on the floor will cure anything at all, then who need doctors and WHO, ya?
Anyway Christianity condemns homosexuality wat they are doing is according to the original teachings set by the church. I repeat, its the rules of the church worldwide.

i am not a religious role model, far from it.
but Jesus was, and what's more, he stood up to the religious establishment of his day, and got nailed for it. he is my hero, and that was his mission.
but i won't go further because that would be "preaching".
as we mature, we each have to choose our own beliefs, our own paths, and respect the right of others to choose theirs, to make whatever adjustments they choose to make, without coercion.

personally, i believe the individual and psychological factors affecting sexuality are complex, and cannot be altered by mere "exorcism", even though i am aware that there is indeed a spiritual world, having had a first-hand experience of the supernatural in the army. (no, i wasn't exorcised by the drill sergeant haha).
i don't have all the answers. i wish i had. but i know all human beings are fallible, whatever their professed religion or politics. i believe God accepts me despite all my contradictions, but i probably won't try to answer any potential questions here in forum, because it would be just too complicated, and i know some would just want to lash out at anything Christian, just as there are those who are always ready to condemn anything of a sexual nature.
i just know that i believe in the Lord Jesus, and always will...

Why do religious people always seem to focus on the sexual aspect of homosexuality when talking about it, as if homosexuality is nothing but a sexual behavior or act?

I have seen young ones nowadays confused over many things and their sexuality is one of those things. If he was willing and wanted to cast out what he thinks is a possession then by all means that is his right and choice.
Sometimes I wonder, what advocates (gay or not) are really bitching about? It is really about our rights? Or just to have a valid reason to act out who we are? Coming out, staying gay, being gay, staying in the closet is all about and will always be a PERSONAL CHOICE.

Thus, it is prosmicuity and it does not have anything to do with sexual orientation. The Bible does not say anything negative regarding homosexual attraction and falling in love with the same gender.
Apart from prosmicuity, bitterness also can lead to a person getting possessed by demons (Matthew 18:24). Thus, when you see a homosexual get his 'demon' cast out, it could mean the following:
1) Sexual demon (due to prosmucuity, similar to heterosexuals), or
2) Bitterness (when you get angry because other people discriminate you and your anger is not immediately dealth with), or
3) Nothing to do with demons
The homosexual in the video clip has been deceived.
The devil hates Jesus, who is a Homosexual, because He has defeated him. Jesus has defeated the devil by His blood. Via His blood and death on the cross, He has saved the world from hell. But the devil is going to hell. Since the devil has been defeated by Jesus, the only way his anger could be satisfied is by making war with the rest of the homosexuals.
HIV is not from God, it is from the devil. It is a curse from the devil for all races, cultures, nations, states, sexual orientation, age, etc. But he make people think it is a homosexual disease. Why? Just as by the blood of one Man, Jesus, the whole world is blessed and saved, so the devil wants to the whole world to be cursed by HIV and think the blood of homosexuals is dirty. The devil hated the blood of Jesus!! In this way the devil feels that Jesus is always under his feet, defeating Him and he would be God instead of Jesus.
Do not think homosexuality is a sin anymore. Saying that implying Jesus is a sinner, which is a blasphemy. Homosexuality is divine! The devil wants homosexuals think homosexuality is sin, feels condenmed, get into promicuity, self hatred, spread HIV, and then use people to accuse them. Then the devil would be happy as he feels like Jesus is always under his feet.
Just as the jews in the old testament criminalize Jesus and kill Him on the cross, not knowing that He is their God, similarly Christrians today crimialize homosexuals in the secular world. The devil wanted to deceive God's children. He used God's people to kill God as this would hurt God's heart the most. History repeats itself. The same old lie of the devil but in different packaging.

1) The Bible did not mention anything immoral/ negative about homosexual orientation.
2) The Bible does mention about homosexual activity, and all negative remarks.
3) The Bible says that the cause of homosexual activities is via the worship of devil/ demons (i.e. idols). This is the only cause mentioned in the Bible (Rom 1:26-27).
Jesus became flesh, a Human Being. He is God Almighty, who humbles Himself even to the extend of being a Homosexual, a Human Being who possesses homosexual orientation (Jn 13:23; Jn 19:26; Jn 20:2; Jn 21:7, 20). Homosexual orientation is divine. The devil knew it and he wanted to be like Father God, wanted to be worshipped as a god. In order to feel like he is the Father, he invented his own perverted form of worship: homosexual prosmicous activity (Rom 1:26-27).
Romans 1:26-27 refers to religious acts of worship involving same sex acts in ancient times and does NOT refer to all homosexual activity.
In John 19:26-27, Jesus saw his mother standing by, and the disciple whom Jesus 'loved', standing by as well, he instructed John to took Mary, His mother, to his own house to take care of her, just like his biological mother.
In Deut 25:5-6, God has implemented a Law regarding widows. In the Old Testament, women are propety of men. They cannot come out into the society to work. Their finances and livelihood depend solely on men. If a woman's husband is dead, and if she had no son, then she would need to get married to her brother-in-law who would take care of her. From this passage, we can know that if she had sons, her first born would take care of her, and if her first born is dead, then her second born would take care of her, and so on. If she had no son and brother-in-laws, then she would need to go back to her father's house, just like the case of Tamar, Judah's daughter-in-law. If her father is dead, then she would remain poor or some forced herself to be prostitutes in order to earn money and survive.
In the case of Jesus, he is the First Born in the family. He is not the husband of Mary. Why would He wanted someone to take care of her after He was dead? Perhaps Mary is a widow by then, i.e. Joseph, Jesus' earthy father, was already dead, Jesus, the first born, was thus the next one to take care of her. Jesus knew God's Law well, and He has biological brothers (Matthew 12:46, John 2:12, Acts 1:14), and one of them is Jude! Jesus would have kept quiet to John and Mary, and let his biological brothers to take care of her. Unless you say that his biological brothers, including Jude, who wrote the Bible, was very unspiritual and forsook their Mother Mary. Otherwise, Jesus would have 'broken' the Law in order to have the outsider, the son of Zebedee called John, to take care of His mother, just because He 'loved' John so much!
Mother Mary became John's mother-in-law and Jesus has instituted same gendered marriage, marrying himself to John on the cross just before He died and said 'it is finished'.
No body know this mystery until 2000 years later. All because the devil lied. Homosexuals, wake up!
Jesus never started exgay movement, and never marry Himself to women, in order to earn 'gay marriage' before the Father for us. Gay marriage is accepted before God the Father and it is there for us to claim. The devil hates it anmd tries all means to distract us from it.

That is why Jews kill Muslims, Muslims kill Jews, Muslims oppress women, Catholics persecute Christians, Christians criticize Catholics, Christians criminalize homosexuals, homosexuals hate Christians, etc...All these didn't know that they are far and close relatives of one another, all one big family.
Their only common enemy is the devil.

As far as God is concerned, same gendered marriage is accepted before Him. In the Old Testament, homosexuals can get attracted, love, kiss but cannot have anal sex. They feel incomplete, homosexuality is always 'lower' than heterosexuality. They will have to find completion from the devil (e.g. idol worship in Romans 1:26-27). 'You got to get it from me', says the devil. Thus no way can they please God if they break the Law.
However, Jesus loves us so much. He walked the life of a homosexual, but without sex. After He died, homosexuals can find completion under a same gendered love covenant before God. Homosexual matrimony is brought to the same 'level', if not 'higher', as heterosexual matrimony before the Father. That is to say, God has make a way where there seems to be no way. Same gendered marriage becomes a second option for LGBTs in the New Testament, where in the Old Testament the only way to get it is from the devil.
'Are you leaving me?', the devil screamed. So the devil is angry, kept homosexuals under bondage, strike them with HIV, defame their blood, use the descendants of Abraham to accuse them, rob them of the life which God has purchased for them by His blood. In doing so, he 'feels' that Jesus is under his feet, and he is higher than God.
I may sound crazy but Truth usually sound crazy. But be sure that on the Day of Judgement, every knee (including the fundies) will bow before a Homosexual, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is God Almighty, who is gay!
Jesus has purchased gay marriage by His blood, and anal sex is accepted before the Father. Gay marriage is now a holy promise from the Father. But the devil hates Jesus. He wanted to steal the promise from us and thus deceives us. He make anal sex as one of the most risky activity in contacting HIV and thus make it into a tabboo.

I have MANY reasons for saying this and this particular video is just one more of them!!! Needles to say, I am NO longer catholic or belong to any religion at all!!! Poor that guy on the video!
