Watch: Fathers

Fathers is a Thai feature film about the peaks and troughs of same-sex parenting.

Fathers tells the story of a gay couple Phoon (played by Thai-American actor Asda Panichkul) and Yuke (Thai pop star turned actor Nat Sakdatorn) adopt an abandoned baby boy named Butr.

Director Platpol Mingpornpichit depicts explores the trials and tribulations of the family as their son gets hassled at school and the the Children’s Rights Protection Organization gets involved.

The film is streaming on FilmDoo here. FilmDoo co-founder Weerada Sucharitkul said: "We're thrilled to be showcasing this beautiful and unique film about same-sex parenting in Thailand. As an issue that is too rarely portrayed in cinema, particularly in Asia, it’s wonderful to be part of this celebration. The release coincides with both Father's Day and Pride Month, making it particularly significant and exciting."

I saw this movie in the pink film festival in Amsterdam and I found it touching. The little boy was a very convincing actor. So I recommend it.
