Based on the bestselling Clive Cussler novel, Matthew McConaughey
plays adventurer Dirk Pitt who is searching for a lost Civil War-era
Confederate ship in Africa with his sidekick Al (the very entertaining
Steve Zahn).
As Dirk and Al lurch from one death-defying moment to another,
the ridiculous film leaps from one logic-defying moment to another.
Dirk and Al survive — the movie ultimately doesn't.
