Lots of straight women have been waiting for this one because it
stars the affable Korean megastar Bae Yong-jun. Bae, as we all know,
is worshipped by teenage girls and middle-aged housewives and spinsters.
But he seems to have zero appeal among GLB audiences, what with
that woman-ish curly mop of hair and waxy mannequin features.
Despite his low gay appeal, his latest big-budget film is a very
watchable melodrama. Bae plays a man whose wife gets involved in
a serious car accident. At the hospital he meets Son Ye-jin, a woman
whose husband is also involved in the accident. It slowly dawns
on them that their respective spouses were having an affair.
As Bae and Son try to help each other through the emotional crisis,
they find themselves falling for each other too April Snow
will not disappoint Bae's fans who fell in love with him on the
TV series Winter Sonata.
April Snow extends his Mr Sensitive persona, and the sensual
lovemaking scenes with Bae and Son should send his fans into a tizzy.
Director Hur Jin-ho is a sensitive director who manages to draw
good performances from the stars and make all the elements work
quietly together.
