146 Emerald Hill

A temporary habitat that could be the home of your dreams.

Converting two shophouses located in the heritage enclave of Emerald Hill into 14 individually-styled luxury lofts is a stroke of genius. Enrolling the help of boutique firm Aamer Architects, 146 Emerald Hill loses none of its distinctive Peranakan exterior styling in pursue of accommodating the apartments.

The 14 exclusive lofts at 146 Emerald Hill are for rental only. A home-warming party will be held on the 29th May 2009, serving up as a perfect opportunity to view each unique and distinctive living space styled with the hallmarks of Aamer Architect’s archi-sculpture philosophy. It is easy to spot examples of clever use of space: maintaining a balance of both forms and functions, as space and creativity merges into a stylistic urban expression.

Despite being located at 5 minutes away from the busy shopping hub of Orchard Road, 146 Emerald Hill is designed to help create a sense of calmness and more importantly, home. Common facilities include a four-storey tall water works that sits in the middle of the structure and a 12m rooftop pool with jacuzzi jets.

Perhaps the difficult decision is which of the 14 lofts best suits your personality.

It looks nice cosy and contemporary and i would say it is very me, BUT ............. It could be done anywhere else on any other building and it makes no difference. WHY???? loose the beautiful cultural heritage of the building with something that totally disregard the original beauty. Sometimes, I wonder about architects responsibiity in the role of presevation /restoration of whats left of the few rare Singapore heritage.

I found this place like a hotel more. It has a cool colour palette and the curtain part could have executed better.
